Brakes, pipes and handbrakes
Brakes are the one part of the car where the cheap option is not an option. If yours grind, pull to one side, or the pedal has gone soft under your foot, that is a phone call today rather than at the next MOT.
Pads and discs front and rear, seized calipers, corroded pipes made up and fitted, handbrake cables and shoes. Corroded pipes are the common failure round here, and they are a far easier job before the test than after it.
Everything gets bled and road tested before we leave. Finding out on the way to work is not a test.
