ROVING REPAIRS Call

Who turns up

Kevin does. The reviews call him Kev. There is one mechanic here, so the person you speak to on the phone is the person who arrives, looks at the car and does the work.

You are not booking a slot with a service desk and hoping the job reaches whoever is free that morning. You get one mechanic, on your drive, and the same one next time. That is why so many of the reviews below are people on their second and third job rather than their first.

His own listing puts it at thirty years and more in the trade. What that buys you is range. Newer cars get the codes read and then checked, because a sensor reporting a fault and a sensor being the fault are two different things and only one of them is worth paying for. Older cars get somebody who was working on them when they were current, which is getting hard to find and is the reason a twenty-two year old Astra is still on the road.

The other half of it is the garden machinery. Petrol mowers, strimmers, chainsaws and ride-ons, repaired at the house alongside the car. Almost no mobile mechanic in Nottingham lists that, and it is the reason a lot of people ring here rather than throwing a mower away in April.

Working out of a van rather than a workshop has a limit, and it is worth being straight about it. Some jobs need a ramp. If yours is one of them you will be told on the phone, not after two hours on your driveway. Where the driveway is the problem rather than the job, the car can be collected and brought back instead.

What people keep saying

Kevin is brilliant. First time Kevin fixed our car at home quickly after AA said they couldn't do anything. Second time Kevin came to fix a different car which he sorted quickly and went way beyond what he needed to do. Will always use Kevin. Thanks so much Kevin

Tell us what it is doing

Ring and describe the noise, the light, or the thing it will not do. Say where the car is and roughly how old it is, and you will know what the job looks like before anybody sets off.
